i had a spare vocal mic taken from a stand onstage by an audience member at a zombie metal
gig coupla months ago. most of the audience were, well, kids -so i stopped the gig and
announced why. after five minutes i turned all the amp gains down to show i meant it and
the mic pretty immediately reappeared. pity i had to treat everyone like children, but i
got the backing of most of the audience, the band and the promoters afterwards. i think
the miscreant got a summary kicking afterwards, i was told he'd been "dealt with".
while i was learning my trade, my jedi mentor always drummed into me how the mics
were the first thing to get off stage at the end of the set, but that doesn't help you
when they're nicked halfway thru the headline act..!
