Sound quality of course.

No modulation noise, no tape hiss, no wow and flutter, no tape head cleaning, no bias set-up (and wrong sound if you get it wrong), no Dolby set-up (and wrong sound if you get it wrong), etc., etc.......

And the cost of the tape!
