Sympathies with the hearing problems. I'm currently suffering from extended sessions mastering some bright mixes, so I know how debilitating it can be.

As far as guitar is concerned. Well... you know the answer...

I've heard guitars recorded dry as a desert that pour into your soul like warm custard. And I've heard guitars played in a tastefully chosen cavernous reverb (in fact I've heard guitars recorded in a cavern too!) that make you sob like a baby.

Which one to go for? Ah, that's the million quid question!

No right answer I'd say - sorry!
