Upgrading..?

I currently use a Yamaha aw1600 workstation with a variety of different (fairly inexpensive) mics for my acoustic based music. I record a lot and work in the industry (as crew) so you could say I'm experienced at a basic level.

I want to sell my aw1600 workstation and upgrade to a Pro Tools based recording system. I have MacBook which is half a year old.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any opinions or tips as to the best packages or specific equipment or upgrades I can get.
