More advice on finding mastering engineers?
      17/03/10 11:56 AM
Hi there. I hope someone can help with this query. My band have finished mixes of our new album, which we have waited quite a long time for! We are now at the stage where we need to master it ready for release, something which is being hammered home by the mix engineer, who does not want the responsibility of mastering himself.

Now, whilst we are aware that it is a very important stage of the release, we are not so sure about who/what we are looking for. On the mix engineers advice we have approached a couple of people based on the albums that we think stand up pretty well on various systems, particularly in our genre, but beyond that we are stumped.
Our music is a mixture of ska/reggae, rock and indie I guess, and older songs and the odd rough/unmastered mix can be heard at www.myspace.com/jimmythesquirrel

Does anyone have any advice that might help us out? I have always found SOS forums as a great source of knowledge (though previously without having to make specific posts!)

Thanks

Jody
