I need a way to send all 5 mics to the board and my multi effects but be able to switch between the two instantly. I have thought of many different ways to do this but their so complicated and dont solve the problem. One idea I had was to use a Y splitter out of each drum mic having one signal going to the board and one to my pedal but the only issue with that is, it will work with the reverb or delay but with stuff like the wah you will end up hearing the regular drums as well and will just sound weird. Can anyone think of a way to be able to instantly switch the mics from one signal to another? Or mute the signal to the board and use just the one going to the pedal? Without telling the sound engineer to mute all the channels haha.
I dont even need to use the multi effects pedal I wouldnt be apposed to going through a computer and using an interface and sending all the mics through that but I dont know of any that allow you to hook up a pedal to switch effects on an off for all the channels I would need at the same time - if that makes sense.
Another idea I had was to use a Y splitter off each mic then put an interrupter in the cables going to the board and hooking all 5 of them up to a pedal so that with one pedal I can mute or cut the signal going to the board and turn it back on. But I dont know if a device like that even exists or how I would make one.
I know a lot of you are probably thinking "Just incorporate a roland drum kit into your kit and get any sound you want" I could do that and I do sometimes for crazy sounds like a T-808 kick or something but for some effects I still want the quality of the acoustic drums and I have not been able to get that same quality live with an electric kit. It is an option but I also want to control things with a foot pedal.
Again I may be a complete idiot and thinking about this too much and making it more complex than it needs to be but thats why Im posting it here. So if you guys have any ideas please let me know! Thanks!
