Okay, So then which of you lot REALLY know's their [ ****** ] on this stuff.... ??????? Available Audio device drivers, software, and hardware CPU options???

I WILL read through this entire forum , (as and when i get time), But it would be very much appreciated if I got a bit of an inside track and the opinions of someone who's built and run several different Linux based systems....

obviously there ARE other Linux fora (Forums ?) around the globe, but I thought I'd start here ...... for obvious reasons.

Mostly, I'm just curious.... But I think it's about time I learnt something more detailed about it.... I'm competent and comfortable in Mac and Windows, and hell. even Atari.........(And old ICL mainframe ME2988 type OSes like George ) But I'd like to be able to offer some sort of valid (meaning actually knowing what I'm talking about) opinion as and when I get asked about "The Linux option"

maybe the more adventurous members might like to start collating a Linux FAQ???? (which reminds me...... )
