My PC is faster on its side!!!

Weird one this.

Moved over to macs a couple of years ago but I have an old P2 2.4ghz PC that I keep to access old stuff. Its really slow, I avoid using it.

Anyway, I was having a gear tidy up and I decided to turn the PC on its side so its fits in the bottom of my rack and is out the way.

But when I powered it up to check all was still well the thing was flying! Any ideas why this would be?
