Worth doing. But here are a couple of handy tips.

First, get a nice soft 1" paintbrush to help you clean the heatsinks etc. and keep it purely for cleaning and dusting.

Second, when you apply a vacuum cleaner to the fans it will make them spin. And while it looks cool, resist the temptation and jam them so they don't spin when you vacuum. If you make them spin fast they can generate current that can be potentially damaging.
