Currently I run live sound for a local church in my area. The church utilizes a great
sound system but for some reason when running the monitor cables their ran all the
monitors through one line which left me with no control on who hears what. We currently
have 3 singers, two guitar players and a drummer all needing sound from two non powered
monitors and a small drummer monitor. When someone needs more monitor my only option is to
turn them up but by doing that I turn them up in all three monitors. Now by the time I get
to adjusting everyone the stage mix is not only chaos it is so loud that people sitting in
the front row are literally only hearing the stage mix along with the main mix causing the
sound to sound horrible for audience along with stage members. I am in the process of
adding more monitors which will help but still doesn't solve the root problem. I also have
a 16 channel snake running from front to back but I am still kind of new at the sound game
and when I was trained I was told it it not good to run power through the snakes...I am un
sure if this is true or not. I am curious if anyone has any suggestions that could help or
benefit me in any way!
Thanks
