Because I'm not on the road day-in and day-out I find these are adequate for my needs:

Cable Reel

But if I was out and about more then I'd get some of the drums-on-frames type - which incidentally are easier to unreel (and perhaps reel). I find the closed type easier to deal with - and more sturdy. CPC stock a good range of both plastic and metal.
