so as you know the average joe public is more often than not totally inexperienced when it come to using a mic and they can cause a real headache, especially when you are not prepared.
tonight was a right chew on as i had to contend with no less than 20 presenters all with different levels of confidence and so dynamically different. I was litterally on full gain with a mic held at breast height on occasions backing right off for mr mic swallower.
Pops on the p's and b's, booming voices with clipping & limiters kicking in when they got over excited and the old tomatoe sauce bottle experience.
great. I made it through with sharp eyes and ears with lightening fast reactions on the fader/mute button - mic got dropped at one point and it was off before it hit the floor.
So to the question - other than asking the client if they want a disco or a chuffing AV hire what are the options when dealing with the above.
foam pop shields?
User manual gaffa taped to mic?
stun gun?
