Starting to read music you're better off cadging or buying a cheap drum rudiment book.
Just snare and not the whole kit, you can get them. These are written on one line so you
can just concentrate on the timing/rhythm patterns rather than muddle your notes as well.
Once you get used to the groupings you can then move on to guitar or piano script. When
you have moved on at first tap out the rhythm pattern and then add the note positioning.
