I've been a lifelong fan of F1. I grew up watching it with my father when the means allowed. I haven't missed a single race since 1999 (OK, I missed one or two but recorded them to watch later - at least until iPlayer).
To me, this sport represents the best of British engineering. Almost all of the teams have Brits in their ranks. The most exciting drivers of the last 20 years have been British (apart from Senna and Prost). Not only that, but the research the teams conduct into safety trickles into the automotive industry (along with designs and efficiency).
It is with great sadness that the full coverage will be given to Sky Sports. Sky is a luxury many of us can't afford. They say they won't be streaming adverts during the races but then Bernie said he wouldn't sell the rights to Sky.
“Sky have been trying to buy the TV rights from us for a long time but we won’t because they are not free-to-air television broadcasters... with their [audience] figures it would be almost impossible for teams to find sponsors. That would be suicidal.”
-Bernie Ecclestone, May 2011
Anyway, I could go on but if you sympathise even slightly with these sentiments, let the BBC know

Thank you for your time and apologies for the grammar.
