I am quite happy paying 38p a day for Radio 4 and the World Service alone. I'd happily pay twice that just for "I'm sorry, I haven't a clue", "Just a minute" and 'QI" alone.
Their comprehensive news website and iPlayer (which allows me to watch (repeatedly) or 'listen again' (repeatedly) to quality broadcasts) are just icing on the cake.
It astonishes me that people will happily pay (roughly) £2 a day (and have a supremely ugly satellite dish hanging off their abode) for hundreds of channels of total and utter shite and then get all militant about the 38p a day BBC licence fee!
