booted it today and again it still ran in slow mode, I think I have a restore point back to when it was initially wiped clean last month , or might do a fresh install of x.p after a back up of a few things ( have most backed up anyhow, yes must make an image of the system drive, stick to one antivirus , reg cleaner, computer was on the net about 3 hours in its life span , Im suspecting that the 40 gig old hp drive is infected with tons of bad things as it was exposed constantly.
Will go through all the processes tomorrow, and follow the things outlined by you fine folk
