Just thought I'd throw this one in, to illustrate how bizarre it can be:

Trucks are required to turn off their reverse warning between 11.30pm and 7.30am; I asked my instructor why those times specifically, and he told me it was based on when the 'average' working man would have come home from the pub and gone to bed, and when he would have got up ready for work, so that his sleep would not be disturbed.

Now that may be anecdotal; but it's as strange as the law can get . . .
