the spacers were on the basis you implied you wanted to lean stuff against the wall, not fix it to the wall itself..



thus a 2 inch spacer at the top, and a 4-6 inch one at the base.... giving you a built in "lean" varying depth air cavity, and most efficiency around the corner between wall and floor.



i do this stuff for a living....
