It's a weird one this. I have heard a lot of people claim this exact difference between logic and pro tools. I don't believe all of them are trying to provoke a reaction or whatever. I haven't personally 'null tested' this myself (and I'm not convinced that a null test is necessarily going to show up stuff that might be happening at very low level) but lets assume for a second that there is no quality difference. I wonder if there's a psychological link between what we see and what we hear. Perhaps a combination or tone in the colours of the GUI etc etc.
