Unapologetic Nord fandom here, but I respect others' opinions of course!
Is it just the action that worries you? I wonder if you'll get a truly great action with low weight?
I know the Nord action's not perfect (it is all subjective after all), but I personally find the action very playable. Some will say they need escapement, personally I don't hanker for that. I welcome the lighter feel - which surprised me somewhat.
For me the weight seals it, but the sounds more so. There are "technically" (by which I mean larger in size) better pianos out there of course eg VST, or the big Kronos sounds, or the VPiano and it's ilk, but I really like the organic sound to the Nord samples, and I love the upright piano sounds.
For me, I am actually more keen on the Stage2 because it's got more going on, and has pitch and mod controls. But that comes at a much inflated price. a certain UK company with a name that refers to be open all week has some reduction on the 76 note version.
So with weight being the issue I guess the one I can think of would be the Yamaha mox8. But then you're going to lose out on the piano sounds, which aren't a patch on any of the boards you mention, methinks.
Or you get a controller and play your VSTs live, but I wonder how reliable that would be?
Perhaps others have second hand recommendations too.
Nice Nord reviews from a rival publication...
