I went into Maplin's about 5 days after the floods. They had a sign up saying the H/drives had all had a substantial price increase due to the floods.
As I was browsing near the computer stuff the sales guy pointed it out to me again. I asked him how come the prices had shot up so quickly as the stock they had on the shelves , in the stock room and at their distribution center had all been purchased some months prior at far cheaper rates.....................
Because the stock of hard drives became suddenly much more valuable. Its basic economics - if you studied it for one day you would understand...
