Choosing a master recorder
      19/01/12 07:21 AM
Hello everybody!!!

I am looking for a MAster recorder and would like to hear some meanings about what is out there to be bought!

Well, i´ve heard that Master CD recorders laser lens keeps not doing a nice work for a long time, so I have dismissed this option already, but my ears are open...
If it is possible it should be a hard disc recorder, something nice, althougt I am far from professional sound producing I am getting as much good gear that I can...

I thought of two options:
-Tascam hd-r1 or
-Tascam DV-RA1000HD

Let me now expose how I am working:
I recorded a band(first time )got into my zed 436 and into cubase. I use the ssl alpha link converter to get in and out the Pc and the desk.
What I want now, is to mix on my zed and record the master(as good as possible), therefore i was told about master recorders, but I dont want to loose more quality than needed.
Now, I asked another forum and was told to go back into cubase, because the alpha link is such a good converter and the master recorders converter would not keep it up with the alpha link, but my teacher said it is not the way to go... he said I need a master recorder in order to keep a powerfull level

I hoped I expressed well enought to be understood...`please tell me what you think about this!!!

Thanks a lot on forehand!
