I shall miss Colin greatly. A genius. Wish I knew who he/she is. As to why people reacted so badly to his whacky humour, I suppose it's almost possible to miss that his posts are tongue-in-cheek. But it's not as if he attempted to make them plausible. Nobody is that much of an idiot. Well, hardly anybody.

To be honest, the OP's question is so weird that it made me wonder if it was posted by Colin in another guise. A research project into whether music history should be taught as part of a music course? Sounds like a candidate for the 'ignoble prize', the official alternative Nobel prize, awarded for the most useless pieces of research of the year.
