An Acronis copy lets you make incrememental backups that take up less space than a full backup, takes a lot less time, and lets you keep a chain of backups and previous versions. The down side is that you're relying on propietary file formats.

Something like ICE Mirror will make things quicker, and uses standard file copy, but doesn't look after versioning. For libraries (which should be recoverable from your installation disks at the last gasp) this may not be such a big deal.

Choices, choices. For me I like Acronis. The ability to go back to earlier versions is very useful and gives me a sense of safety.

That said, I also occasionally swap a hard drive (containing libraries and project data) with a friend that's a straight file copy - gotta do what you can to be safe!
