Something like ICE Mirror will make things quicker, and uses standard file copy, but doesn't look after versioning. For libraries (which should be recoverable from your installation disks at the last gasp) this may not be such a big deal.
Choices, choices. For me I like Acronis. The ability to go back to earlier versions is very useful and gives me a sense of safety.
That said, I also occasionally swap a hard drive (containing libraries and project data) with a friend that's a straight file copy - gotta do what you can to be safe!
