Multiple firewire needs from a single port?

Hi all

Very tempted by an imac for home studio set up but have a soundcard / uad / controller keyboard that all require firewire. Just one FW port on the imac. At the risk of asking the worlds most stupid question, is there a firewire adapter that does a 4 from 1 kind of thing and if so would these kind of devises be happy running on such a set up?
