How about using it as an excuse to buy a narrow boat?

You could use it to take as much equipment as you like to the gigs (and as a result maybe get them to put on more regular gigs) and then use it as an escape for weekends and holidays...

Just thinking out of the box, and also admitting that I've been interested in living on a narrow boat for years
