Hmmm. Now a boat 'taxi' might not be a bad idea at all. Are there any friendly boat people around there.

I researched the idea of narrow boat living some 20-30 years ago. It can get somewhat complicated in legal terms for anyone that's working, and rather expensive in any case. There are very few free moorings, and those are always time limited.
One problem is that officially you are of 'no fixed abode'. Finance is the first issue that comes up. Banks and insurance companies get very twitchy about their customers moving about!
Another quite important issue is healthcare. Who exactly would be your doctor, and what happens if you are unfortunate enough to become seriously ill?
