So having finally got my head around the speaker issue (sorry for being a bit slow about that) I've been looking at keyboard amps, also seeing what folks in the keyboard forum have to say about the standard products (Rolland/Peavey/Hartke). Nobody sounds overly inspired... As it happens I already have an AER 60 acoustic guitar (combo) amp and they have an XLR input for a dynamic mic, and handle vocals just fine. Would that be too colored for the output of a KPA or flat enough, would you reckon? Small size of speaker in the AER notwithstanding - they are small amps, but this would ONLY be for domestic purposes.
