Thanks SB - I did mean my EQ settings. I kinda figured they would - it just makes sense due to the different frequencies in play, but just wondered if there was a kind of 'cure-all' setting I could employ on the odd occasion I get the subs out.

As a general setting it may be worth considering a digital EQ (Behringer do several, of course) which can save presets for instant recall depending on the system setup. This is not a cure all (there isn't really one) but might save repetition in some circumstances.
