John-do you know what the thickness of that electret diaphragm is?

It's a curiosity question only, and I ask only because some past ones by other (well known) manufacturers have been on the rather thick side, more modern ones have been as little as 2 microns. Perhaps it's about 6?

I would bet the mic is a nice one, regardless of the price. It's a good series of mic's.
