testing a used Mackie Control Universal Pro?

Hi there,

How can I test a used MCUpro before handing over the cash?

The seller will have no computer to hook it up to.
Is there a "show your working/demo " button/s to press that makes it run through a diagnostic routine etc? Or will I have to borrow a Macbook and load my Logic onto it?

If it's the latter can I just hook them up and it's a turnkey situation or is there a lot of configuring to do?
