Limiting should come last otherwise it is largely pointless.

Normally I would eq after compression as the dynamics processing can affect the perceived tonality.

But in your case it sounds like the compression is damping your bass end too much, which implies that the bass is very strong to start with and the compressor is trying to restore a more normal spectral balance.

Try putting a high pass filter in the compressor side chain to make it less sensitive to the low end.
