I'm a Nord Stage (mk1) owner and although the original piano samples weren't outstanding, they were actually quite playable and worked very well live.

The subsequent, updated and expanded range of piano samples has really moved things forward though -- I just which the original Stage models could be upgraded to take advantage of them fully without having to displace other sample sets from the memory.
