Links to Essential SOS Sound Design Tutorials

I have been working with synths in varying degrees for a few years now as a keyboard player but would like to read up more thoroughly on the technical aspects behind synthesizers and the different types (FM especially) and possibly effects. I have had a quick look on amazon and seen a huge amount of publications - can anyone recommend any that stand out from the rest?
