I think if you are into hip-hop/dance/techno/electronica an old 12bit machine is a good investment. Which one though is a different matter ...but get them while cheap!!!
Oh yeah these are still very popular to this day with hip hop producers just have a look at the MPC forums..it's the poor mans MPC-60 lol
House too...I hear DJ sneak still swears by his, I always wanted a 12 bit sampler, I temporally had a Prophet 2000 and by god that sounded amazing when sampling a loop that was just a bit over driven into it, shame it broke.
Still want a S-950 but the prices are creeping up on them
