Just out of interest what is the voltage rating of the DIN socket.
The socket is marketed by Hirshmann and sold through Conrad. According to the spec sheet, the voltage rating is 1.5A at 34V which is adequate, though not outstanding. For this application, it's sufficient.
However, I'm still in doubt on the connector busses - I'd prefer to use a sturdier design, a circular multi-pin connector to which the matching plug can be screwed for the best possible contact, effectively lowering resistance...
