The MoPads under the speakers are for isolation purposes only. If you're going to have the speakers that close to corners, I'd strongly recommend some good broadband bass control in them to minimize the ringing and horn effect as well as any SBIR issues.

Don't get too crazy with thin foam. You'll just skew the decay times in the room by killing the high end and leaving the bottom out of control.
