So, before the new ones came out, I was all set to buy a now old type white macbook - the 2.4 GHz one, with 2GB memory, with 160 GB hard drive - being a complete novice, I was going to couple it with logic and an apoggee duet, all seeming nice and simple for me to learn on.
Now, as has been amply expored on here! - its all a bit complicated cos of the lack of firewire on the new ones - I'm not going to shell out for a macbook pro, so really the only thing stopping me buying the 'leftover,'macbook, is that while it apparently has firewire, it has 'only' a 2.1 GHz processor (I can still get the 2gb memory and 160HD.
Does this matter!? - previously it was a deciding factor in going for the slightly more expensve old macboks, but will this leftover MB still do the job? or am I better off trying to get one of the 'old' 2.4 GHz macbooks that are still kicking around the internet - I'm basically going to be playing around with smallish projects, recording one thing at a time and then doing alot of mucking about with them.
any advice?
