The mic I have been using is the Gefell m930 – a good mic to be sure, but after some careful listening, I am hearing a bit more mid/low-mid presence than is complimentary for these two sources. I am therefore looking for a mic that can capture male voice and acoustic guitar (as separate sources) really well in combination with the Great River preamp.
One choice that I have been looking at is the Soundelux U195. I would prefer a lighter mic, with cardoid pattern and also preferably non-tube.
The budget is anywhere from $1000 to $2000, or about 800 to 1600 euros.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
