Obscure audio but I'm still critical....

I heard a market cash register recently that used canned sounds for the keys and the "bbbbrrrringgg." Problem is, the ring sound was REALLY horribly recorded. It sounded like the source was nowhere near the mic, full of noise, I swear I could almost hear people in the background.

Come on!!! I mean these sounds can be obtained royalty free, why make your own? And if you do, why not record them... well?

Is it just me? Y'all have any obscure audio that irks you?
