Eminence Speakers with Variable Sensitivity
      20/08/11 09:20 AM
The Eminence 'Maverick' (American sound) http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-detail/?model=Maverick_16
and also the 'Reignmaker' (British Sound) http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-detail/?model=Reignmaker_16 < br />
speakers come with a sensitivity dial on the back that can vary the sensitivity from 91.5dB to 100dB. (there's a typo on the web page for the latter where the sensitivity can be varied between 100 and 100dB!)

This sounds promising with regard to achieving tube tone at reasonable volumes - but has anyone tried them? Are they any good?

There is of course the option of the Celestion G12M Heritage at 96dB...

Regards
Jay
