As mentioned in previous posts recently , my system has been out of sorts, and as we speak its checking for errors on a hard drive and will probably restart once x.p launches or run slow, it froze ten minutes ago and I had to push the restart button, wonder what's going to happen this time.(it restarted now twice)

I really need some tips to get a solid system

last week end I installed this trojan hunter, another trojan program, another , avast antivirus (now expired), C cleaner, another cleaner and another few anti viruses that didnt work, I installed microsoft security centre, no internet access to update, downloaded updates from another computer but not sure how to install them., I installed a skins program which halted the system.

reverted to system restore a few days ago everything was okay but now we are going downhill again

In a nutshell its all a bit of a mess , I have hard drives to clean up , delete organise and maintain a dependable solid system and keep it that way

Im leaving the p.c run for a while , it seems to get its breath back or something so , where do I start ?
