Currently using PT10, mixing a track. I use an outboard compressor for some things (it's nice and crunchy, so it has it's uses). My typical way to do this is to set the output of the track I'm compressing to the output on my interface that's plugged into the compressor, then record a bounce of that back into PT, and shift it back as far as it needs to go. I've worked this way since 8, and I've noticed since then that I only need to shift back 2 samples now, compared to 80ish that it was back in 8. I assume that this is down to the ADC involved. I test each bounce with a quick chopped sine wave, but it's been stable so far.
Now, the question: Am I doing anything incredibly stupid here? The method seems to work fine, and I've not had any odd results so far, but the massive change in delay is a little worrying.
Cheers
