I used to have an RME PCIe ADAT card linked up to my 16 channel digital mixing desk which supported ADAT. Unfortunately my ADAT card has since broken and I don't know whether I should go about buying another pci-e adat card for over £450.00 or is there a cheaper (and just as stable way) of linking up my PC to the 16 individual channels on my mixing desk? There are virtually no ADAT cards to choose from and I just can't figure out if I should think about having a new recording set up and ditch the ADAT thing altogether.
I've never tried any other set up before so I'm really looking for advice on whether I should stick with the ADAT cards or try something different. Any ideas / suggestions would be hugely appreciated.
I have a Windows 7, 64 bit machine linking up to a Behringer DDX3216 digital mixing console. I currently record with Cubase 5.
Thanks, Simon
