Launchpad vs keyboard controlling ableton

Postby RishiP » Mon Jan 28, 2013 4:12 pm

Hello everyone

So I was wondering if anyone has experience using the Launchpad for ableton vs using a computer keyboard. I've been launching clips with the keyboard and it is super fast and responsive, but Im still thinking of getting a Launchpad, mainly because it maps automatically and i feel like it may give my fingers more room to tap.

Im guessing that the keyboard is super fast (no delay) because its a PS2 connection (not USB). Does anyone out there feel like their keyboard is a better controller in terms of responsiveness? (PS for certain clip/scene launching I do not use quantization)

There will be no practical difference in the latency / delay of PS2 vs USB.

If you want to test this, try a USB keyboard.

Just learning Live using a Quneo. I find it good for clip launching because of the visual feedback. I imagine all other Live design surfaces provide the same. I don't know about latency differences, but it seems quite responsive.
