creating best quality click tracks

Postby Alibi Productions » Mon Aug 05, 2013 1:25 pm

Hi all, i'm hoping someone can help clarify some things for me here - i've been creating click tracks for a little while for a band i play in and the way i have been working to do this is as follows:

Create the backing tracks/stem tracks etc as needed - mix them and and raise volume plus limit them to around -0.5db. Then import the bounced file into a new logic project and use the direction mixer to pan that mix to the right and create a click panned to the left. I'll usually mix the levels on this so that the click is around -15db and the main track is around -1-2db.

Are there technically any errors i'm making by working this way?

Does anyone else use a similar method or an entirely different method that works brilliantly or something?

Thanks in advance for your time!
