Question about sync deal for TV shows

Postby Kinh » Mon Jul 17, 2017 2:20 pm

I've been approached by a cable tv network to use my tracks on a non-exclusive gratis basis, meaning no up front fee, just royalty. From what I can tell they do a lot of high rating shows, but they're cable. My question is if I give them the license how will I know they'll actually use my tracks? And how will I know how much of each track they'll use (how many seconds)?

In theory, you could ask for copies of the Cue sheets which contain exactly that information. However, in reality, it's very difficult to get hold of these and you probably won't be told about any uses. You simply have to rely on them to report (correctlyto the appropriate PRO).
