Strange stroy.
Maybe the EU is simply in favor of Hackintosh building

Some regulation changed a little, and the three year old machine's design no longer completely complies, so Apple will stop supplying them to EU suppliers.

As Apple have already said, there should be some replacement for the Mac Pro coming in 2013 anyway, so in practical terms it hardly means the sky is falling, particularly as EU suplliers will likely still have inventory which they can still sell.

Apple is in favour of Hackintosh building. It's their way out of the unwanted personal computer/workstation business, without causing their computer users to be out on a limb when Mac is finally retired. They won't openly admit to it though.

Apple's CEO hinted at some new PRO hardware this year, badly needed I think.

I highly doubt that, particularly stated factually like that. They do not tent to like anything that loses them control over their products and the experience. I'm not saying the Hackintosh community gives them sleepless nights - it's a tiny community after all - but I highly doubt they are in favour of it.
