New Updates Causing Laptop to Crash

Postby Sibelius19 » Thu May 02, 2013 9:11 am

I had to restore my Laptop because every time it would update it would crash and not even be able to start again unless I restored to an earlier state(happened April 30 early in the morning and then happened again on May 1st). Since then I disabled auto updates and am leery to let windows update ever again. I don't want to lose my music. I don't have an external hardrive. I suppose I could put the music on CDs as Data. Anyway, has anyone else had any trouble with the recent updates?

1. Get your PC into a working state and get an image copy of the system drive (this will require a second hard drive).

2. Make an incremental system drive image backup before you allow any update to take place. If the update causes problems then re-instate your image backup.

3. Never worry about updates again.

If you're worried about losing data why on earth aren't you making backups?!?!?
