Steinberg Magneto and Gadget Labs WaveWarm - anyone?

Postby Pitchfork » Sun Jan 05, 2014 4:28 pm

I am using an old XP / SoundForge 5.0 machine for editing and would love to get these 2 plug ins back.

I know they are old but cannot find anything online as i think maybe Gadget Labs WaveWarm was free and only about 400kb!

Can anyone point me to these two tiny plug ins, or somewhere i could download them?

I have tried to buy them but nothing on eBay?

Thanks for any help

Hi,

I doubt it as this is a Steinberg archive. TBH I don't even know if Magneto is in there.

I have checked through most of the folders and sub-folders (as there is no quick search) and I can't find Magneto either

I think Magneto was available for a long while from the Steinberg archive, however it's recently been dusted off and bundled as Magneto 2 as part of Cubase 7.5 so the original seems to have been removed from the archive.

I know it doesn't help you, but Magneto 2 is pretty fine!

Do you still have the machine you used to use these on? If so, just do a search for DLL files called "magneto" and you should find it. But tbh, there are much better things out there than Magneto now, including some freebies (check out VarietyOfSound's FerricTDS for example, and Jeroen Breebaart's Ferox).

Having just sung the praises of the new Magneto, I have to concur that FerricTDS gets a lot more use from me. A contender for the best free plug-in ever?

FerricTDS does get a huge amount of praise from various quarters, and I've certainly got it installed on my own PC
